Five construction workers were rescued alive on Wednesday following the partial collapse of a two-storey building under construction at Modupe Ola Street, Onipetesi Estate, Mangoro, Lagos. The building, which was originally a bungalow, was undergoing conversion when the rear section of the structure gave way.

At the time of the incident, some occupants were present on the ground floor, despite the ongoing construction work. Emergency responders from the Ikeja and Agege Fire Stations quickly arrived at the scene and managed to control the situation.

The rescued workers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collapse and to ensure safety measures are reinforced in construction practices.
