Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu inaugurated 233 housing units at the newly constructed Abraham Adesanya Housing Estate in Ajah, Lagos State. This project, completed in collaboration with Urban Shelter, features one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, terraces, and semidetached homes across Parcels A and B of the estate.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that Lagos has delivered around 11,000 housing units over the past six years, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to bridging the housing deficit in the state through strategic public-private partnerships. He highlighted the importance of making Lagos a viable investment destination for real estate developers.

The project is seen as another milestone in the government’s effort to enhance affordable home ownership amid rapid population growth in Lagos. The governor mentioned that under the T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, the state provides land as equity while development partners contribute financing and technical expertise.

In recent achievements, he noted that 420 units were delivered in Ajara, Badagry, last month, with other housing schemes set for completion soon. Sanwo-Olu also warned joint venture partners about adhering to timelines, indicating that uncompleted or substandard projects would be reviewed for possible revocation.

Commissioner for Housing Moruf Akinderu-Fatai expressed confidence in the project as a significant stride towards providing affordable, secure housing in Lagos. He commended Urban Shelter for its professionalism and adherence to standards throughout the project execution.
