Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has warned residents against harboring criminals or supporting their activities, stating that he will not hesitate to order the demolition of any homes found to be sheltering criminal elements.
During a Monthly Prayer Service at the Government House, Eno emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security in the state, which is known for its tranquility. He asserted that any attempts to disrupt this peace would be met with strict action.
The governor also addressed the need for urgent attention to areas prone to flooding, such as Aka Itiam Street, noting that construction progress has been hampered by the rainy season. However, he assured that work would accelerate with the arrival of the dry season.
Highlighting Akwa Ibom as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress, Eno expressed the state’s commitment to supporting the party’s candidates in upcoming elections. He encouraged continued public support for the government’s ARISE Agenda and appreciated attendees of the prayer service, underlining the role of prayer in sustaining the state.
Eno appointed Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) Enobong Ibok as the leader of the Government House Prayer Team and urged that the team consist of dedicated Christians committed to interceding for the state and its leaders.
In her sermon, Rev. Dr. Ibok encouraged Christians to remain faithful and refrain from betrayal, reminding them that God observes all actions and rewards individuals based on their deeds.
Additionally, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command reported the arrest of three suspected armed robbers and the recovery of weapons across various locations in the state.
