Mr. Christopher Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), conducted an inspection of both completed and ongoing projects within the council on Friday. He emphasized that his main priorities include rural development and the creation of quality jobs.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that these projects have been initiated since Maikalangu took office in 2022. In the education sector, he oversaw the renovation of a block of seven classrooms at the LEA Primary School in Garki and promised to hire 10 additional teachers by February.
Maikalangu expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far. To enhance healthcare services, he expanded the Garki Primary Healthcare Centre and installed solar lighting to improve safety for nighttime deliveries.
The chairman also inspected road projects in Gosa, Toge, and Sabo Lugbe, where residents commended the efforts to improve access and stimulate economic growth. However, during his visit to Durumi, he expressed dissatisfaction with a contractor for using substandard materials in the construction of a three-classroom block with an office and toilets, insisting that these materials be replaced.
Maikalangu’s commitment to improving rural communities remains a focal point of his administration, as he continues to monitor and support essential projects in the area.
