Breaking: 2-storey building goes down in Abuja

A two-storey residential building has collapsed in Dawaki, Abuja.  

Dawaki which is only a few minutes drive from downtown is in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Viewpoint Housing News gathered that eight persons were trapped in the rubble. One person has been confirmed dead.

As at the time of this, report men of NEMA, Fire Service and NSCDC were trying to rescue the trapped victims.

Muktar Galadima, Director, Department of Development Control, said that the organisation had given the developer a ‘stop work’ notice when they noticed the mitigation of the building.

when our officers were moving round and monitoring developments, they noticed the mitigation of the building from a bungalow to a two-strorey building and he was issued a stop work notice which he didn’t abide to.
