In its bid to improve housing conditions and ameliorating housing deficit in the country, Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, inaugurated an 80-unit housing estate in Sokoto state.
The housing units, built by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, are made of 48 two-bedroom units, 28 units of three-bedrooms and four units of one-bedroom, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said.

Represented by the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, Buhari, 79, described the project as a “fulfillment of the change that the All Progressives Congess (APC) promised Nigerians in 2015.
“This housing estate is an example of the fulfillment of the promise of change in 2015, with the support of Sokoto government, which provided the land.
“It’s a good example of some of the developmental possibilities that inter-governmental collaboration can produce through collaborative effort.
“The progressive ideal of our government seeks to achieve one primary objective, which is to improve the human condition,” the one time Nigerian military ruler said.
He added that he was optimistic that with the provision of more land, the government could do more for Nigerians.
