The Delta State Government has announced the approval of a comprehensive road construction project benefiting several communities across the state. The initiative includes the construction of multiple roads aimed at enhancing connectivity and improving infrastructure.
According to Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the state Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, the projects encompass the Uruagbesa Oria-Abraka road, Egodo-Ogbeinbene road, Amai-Aragba road, Inam-Abbi access road, and various internal roads at Ugbolu Hilltop Government Layout, among others. Notable mentions also include the Umuoshimi road with spurs to Ogbe-Aku, and the Kokodiagbene road with a spur to Teiteipur.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori highlighted the significance of these projects, which are valued at over ₦275 billion, marking a historic moment for Delta State during a single executive meeting. The projects aim to deliver value to residents by improving road connectivity and advancing health and urban renewal initiatives.
Aniagwu stated that the approved projects come with a 40% mobilization without the need for state borrowing, showcasing the state’s financial solvency. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparent governance and the overall well-being of the Delta populace.
