The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), said its attention has been drawn to an online portal on a site ‘recruitment gate – www.recruitmentgate.com’ claiming to receive applications for FMBN’s housing loans.
In a statement signed and released by Lawal Isa K/Sauri, the Group Head, Corporate Communications, it said “FMBN categorically states that it has not licensed anyone or persons to receive loan applications using that portal.

“The portal could be the scheme of scammers aiming to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians who desire to own their homes through FMBN, he stated.
According to the statement, it advised members of the public to refrain from using such portal.
The statement went further to add that the only authorized channel for applying for the FMBN/NHF Mortgage loans is through licensed Primary Mortgage Banks as contained in its website – https://www.fmbn.gov.ng/PMBs/pmbs.html.

“Applications for other FMBN housing products such as the home renovation loan, individual construction loan, and rent to own are to be sent directly via FMBN State Branch offices as contained in this list”, the statement concluded.
