Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a substantial housing initiative aimed at supporting young Emiratis as they embark on family life.
The project, which will see the construction of over 3,000 residential units at an estimated cost of Dh5.4 billion, is part of the newly launched Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme.
This initiative, unveiled on January 4, 2025, seeks to promote family stability, enhance quality of life, and encourage work-life balance through a range of financial, social, and educational support measures.
The housing units will be prioritized for participants in the ‘Dubai Weddings’ initiative, designed to assist young Emiratis in overcoming the financial and logistical challenges associated with marriage. The residential units will be distributed across various locations in Dubai, including Latifa City, Wadi Al Amardi, Hatta, and Al Yalayis, among others. This program also includes additional benefits, such as a 10-day paid marriage leave for government employees and a remote work option for mothers during their first year after maternity leave.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to reduce the monthly premium for housing loans to a minimum of Dh3,333 for beneficiaries whose monthly income does not exceed Dh30,000. In his announcement, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the significance of strong families in shaping a better future and reaffirmed the commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of Emirati families in Dubai.
This comprehensive approach aims to ensure the lasting happiness and stability of families while empowering them to nurture future generations.
