The Ekiti State Government has issued a stern warning to contractors executing state projects, emphasizing the need to follow approved timelines and maintain high-quality standards. James Folorunso, Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement and Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, delivered the message during an inspection tour of key ongoing projects in Ado Ekiti on Saturday.

The projects inspected include the Ekiti State International Centre for Arts and Culture, a new Revenue Building, the Indoor Sports Hall, and the House of Assembly Complex renovation. Folorunso reiterated that the Oyebanji administration would not tolerate the use of substandard materials and emphasized that projects must withstand the test of time to benefit the people.

He noted that the Bureau’s monitoring role is essential for ensuring that public funds are used responsibly, and no contractor will be paid without a verified inspection of the work done.

The adviser expressed satisfaction with the progress made but encouraged contractors to speed up work to meet delivery deadlines, affirming that proper oversight ensures the state gets value for money.
