Establishment of Lateef Jakande leadership and fellowship academy

A day of tributes for the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, former governor of Lagos state who died last month at age 91 was held on the 17th of March 2021.

In an honor to him, Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos state announced the establishment of the Lateef Jakande Leadership and Fellowship Academy that will be supported by an empowering Act of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The late Alhaji Lateef Jakande’s tenure as a former Governor of Lagos will continue to be remembered not just by his family but by generations as a reference point in good governance, visionary leadership, a selfless man, transformational leader and leadership to be emulated.

It can be said that Lateef Jakande, also known as Baba Kekere died a happy and fulfilled man because he was able to see the progress that successive citizen administrations made with regards to portraying the Lagos of his dream. Babajide Sanwo Olu, stated that the highest honor we can pay to late Alhaji Lateef Jakand is to continue to endeavor to live up to his standards.
