Family Homes partners army on housing for personnel

Family Homes Fund, a private estate firm, on Thursday said affirmed its commitment to partner the Nigerian Army to provide affordable housing for officers and men.

Managing Director of the firm, Mr Femi Adewole, announced the commitment when he visited the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Abuja.

Adewole said that his visit was to further consolidate the synergy between the organisation and the army.

He added that the firm also planned to construct a 4,000-bed spaces of accommodation for students of Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno, and additional accommodation for members of staff.

“The main purpose of our visit is courtesy on the chief of army staff and by extension, the Nigerian Army as a confirmation of the Fund’s commitment to working with the army for affordable houses.’’

Responding, Buratai, who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Army Headquarters, Lt.-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, said the army was committed to partnering the firm to provide affordable homes for its staff.

Buratai commended management of the firm for considering the army as one of the beneficiaries of its affordable housing projects across the country.

According to him, if we all work together, every stratum of society will have the type of house they can afford and be able to live comfortably and work happily and retire to their homes.

“We want to appreciate you and your management for considering the Nigerian army as one of the beneficiaries of the very good job that you do.

“We want to also encourage this partnership with Nigerian army and we want to deepen it further.

“That is why all the way from Biu, the Vice Chancellor of Nigerian Army University is seated here to receive you and appreciate you for your planned cooperation in the university.

“Beyond here, they will meet directly with you to make sure the planned project at the university is actualised,” he said. NAN
