The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has taken decisive action by shutting down Myra Event Centre in Abuja due to persistent noise pollution. This decision was announced by Felix Obuah, the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), in a statement released on Thursday, April 25, 2025.

Myra Event Centre is located at Plot 135, Mustapha Bello Street, Guzape District. The centre was found to be causing significant noise pollution, particularly during nighttime events, which contravenes environmental regulations. It will remain closed until further notice as part of ongoing efforts to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations in the capital.

The FCTA has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards violations that threaten public health and community harmony. Obuah emphasized that any event centre engaging in noise pollution will face immediate closure.

Additionally, Obuah has encouraged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to report any environmental violations through official AMMC channels, highlighting the importance of collective action in protecting the environment for the public good. This closure reflects the FCTA’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful and healthy environment for all residents in Abuja.
