The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the provision of official residences for key judicial officers, including the President of the Court of Appeal, the President of the Industrial Court, and the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after Wednesday’s FEC meeting, which was presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Wike, construction work is already ongoing at the designated sites for the residences, marking a major step toward improving the welfare and working conditions of the judiciary’s top leadership.

In addition to the housing approval, the Council also sanctioned the provision of potable water to three satellite towns — Orozo, Karu, and Bwari — as part of efforts to expand access to clean water across the territory.

The minister recalled that President Tinubu, during the recent inauguration of the Abuja water supply project, had promised that the scheme would be extended to outlying communities.

Wike assured that the ongoing water project would be completed and commissioned within record time, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to equitable development across the FCT.
