The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has launched the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, marking a significant advancement in the government’s initiative to provide affordable housing for Nigerians. The ceremony was attended by Governor Umo Eno and FHA Managing Director Oyetunde Ojo.
Ojo commended Governor Eno for his dedication to housing development, noting his provision of land and support for the project. He emphasized that this housing estate is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to improving living conditions through affordable, quality homes.
The FHA plans to extend this initiative across all six geopolitical zones, with additional groundbreaking ceremonies set for states like Kaduna, Ogun, and Abia. Ojo also mentioned the agency’s efforts to eliminate abandoned projects, aligning with the government’s goal of ensuring timely completion of housing initiatives.
Governor Eno expressed appreciation for the federal partnership, stating it aligns with his administration’s efforts to tackle housing shortages and improve the welfare of residents. He assured that his government would prioritize the project’s completion and maintain robust security at the site.
The Renewed Hope Housing Scheme aims to stimulate job creation and strengthen local building industries, ensuring that every Nigerian has access to decent housing in line with sustainable development goals.
