The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has announced the suspension of construction activities at its estates in Lugbe, Karu, and Kubwa within the Federal Capital Territory. Developers have been given a three-month period to regularize their construction approvals.
In a statement released on Sunday, the FHA instructed all developers in these estates to report to its headquarters at No. 26 Julius Nyerere Crescent, Asokoro, Abuja, starting February 3, 2025.
“Developers are required to present essential documents, including allocation letters, approved building plans, payment receipts, and consent letters for any property ownership transfers,” the FHA stated.
The suspension aims to ensure compliance with FHA regulations, as developers must submit their documentation for verification and approval.
The FHA also introduced a special amnesty for owners of commercial developments lacking the necessary approvals. Under this initiative, developers have until May 3, 2025, to rectify their property documents and secure the required permits.
“This amnesty offers an opportunity for commercial property owners who have not completed their approvals to address the situation within the three-month timeframe,” the statement added.
