the Mobile Police barracks in Kwami Local Government Area, Gombe State, On Wednesday night, suffered a raging fire outbreak that damaged goods and properties valued at N100 million.
Information surfacing indicates that, N25 million worth of property was reportedly spared from damage thanks to prompt action by the Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command.
This was disclosed to the media on Thursday by Ayuba Jonah-Sule, the Commanding Officer Federal fire service Gombe State .
Jonah-Sule revealed that his personnel acted quickly after learning that properties at PMF 34 Barracks had been destroyed by wildfire.
“Estimated property at the 34 PMF Squadron (Mopol Barracks Kwami Town) in Gombe State is N100 million; estimated property saved is approximately N25 million,” he stated. There is a 25-bedroom complex involved in the fire. encompassing a space of around 200 by 100 yards.

The head of the the state’s police force, however, pointed out that the fire had no effect on the command’s armoury, stating that investigations had revealed that an electrical malfunction had caused the fire.
Usman stated, “I believe the incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m., and that a block of 24 rooms was burned down.” It was claimed by some to be a power surge. Investigations are still ongoing.
