Fire Guts Building at Geometric Power Premises

Management of Geometric Power, also known as Aba Power, has confirmed a fire outbreak that occurred early Monday morning at its premises in Aba, Abia State. The incident was disclosed in an official statement released by the utility company.

According to the statement, the fire broke out in a temporary building that had previously been used by a now-defunct South African electricity firm, Group 5, during the construction of facilities for the integrated power company. This building has reportedly been unused for over 12 years. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

Geometric Power management noted that their staff acted swiftly to contain the fire before the arrival of the Abia State Fire Service, which responded promptly to the emergency call. The management praised the vigilance and efforts of its staff in managing the situation and commended the Abia State Fire Service for their professionalism and quick response.
