Bode Saadu community in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State has been severely affected by flooding, leaving more than 2,000 residents homeless. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday night, submerged over 100 homes and caused damage to roads, properties, farmlands, and even the Arinun Bridge.

Residents living near the riverbank were forced to evacuate as floodwaters invaded their homes. Bode Saadu is located along the Ilorin-Jebba federal highway, just a few kilometres from the Jebba Dam.

Local residents reported that flooding is a recurring issue in the area, exacerbated by inadequate drainage caused by a makeshift bridge on the express road.

Hon. John Bello, Special Assistant on Special Duties, accompanied Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on a visit to the affected areas and confirmed that over 2,000 residents and 100 households were impacted. He stated that the Ministry of Works and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) are assessing the situation to provide necessary support.
