The Executive Management and Staff of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) on Monday, May 12, 2025, honoured the Managing Director/Chief Executive, Shehu Usman Osidi, with glowing tributes and a surprise celebration to mark his 60th birthday anniversary.
The event, held at the Bank’s headquarters, was filled with admiration and heartfelt praise as staff members celebrated Osidi’s exemplary leadership, describing him as visionary, brilliant, humble, transparent, and passionately committed to the Bank’s mission.
Visibly moved by the outpouring of goodwill, Osidi used the occasion to announce that the newly constituted Board of the Bank would be formally inaugurated on May 26, 2025. He also disclosed that the Bank is on course to record another financial surplus in 2025, with a current performance of N6.5 billion already posted.
In his remarks, the MD/CE highlighted the achievements of the current Executive Management, particularly in the area of financial reporting. He revealed that four out of six years’ backlog of unaudited accounts inherited at the start of their tenure had been successfully cleared within just nine months, with the remaining two years scheduled for completion before the end of the year.
Osidi attributed the Bank’s ongoing transformation to the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of its workforce. He expressed deep appreciation for the staff’s contributions, stressing that their collective efforts were crucial to the Bank’s recent progress and renewed momentum.
Speaking on the strategic direction of the Bank, he reaffirmed FMBN’s vital role in supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in advancing housing development across the country. He noted that with the imminent inauguration of the new Board, the Bank is poised to implement far-reaching plans that will drive institutional growth and deepen national impact.
Osidi urged staff members to remain innovative, confident, and collaborative in the pursuit of the Bank’s goals. He emphasized the importance of sustaining strong relationships, teamwork, and professionalism in delivering on FMBN’s mandate.
In a poignant moment, Osidi dedicated the celebration to a former Executive Director of the Bank, Otunba Wemmy Osude, whom he described as a mentor during his early career days at FMBN.
The atmosphere at the event reflected genuine appreciation for Osidi’s leadership, as staff pledged continued loyalty and support for his vision to elevate the Bank to greater heights.
Viewpoint joins the entire FMBN family in wishing the MD/CE 60 hearty cheers and continued success in his journey of exemplary leadership.
