The Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, announced last week during a presentation to the minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on the mass housing scheme for officers of paramilitary agencies under the ministry.
Dangiwa, stated that the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) is set to commence work on the delivery of 5,000 housing units under the National Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP) that was recently approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to stimulate economic growth and create jobs.
With the mandate to provide affordable housing to Nigerians, FMBN is ready to establish a reliable relationship with the ministry of interior, towards improving the welfare of the paramilitary services in the aspect of homeownership.
Furthermore, FMBN is also on path to commence construction of FMBN Mini Cities in partnership with reliable real estate developers as one of the many windows that the Ministry of Interior could tap into the boost of delivery, of affordable housing to its staff.
He enlightened that in line with the FMBN Mini Cities’ Project, the Bank is aiming at the development of 20,000 housing units yearly over the next five years. Off taker are to be profiled at the inception of each project, He further stated that the housing units will be developed in major locations across the country with units ranging from 1000 to 2000 housing units of 2-3-bedroom block of flats and some terraces.
