The Group Head, Corporate Communications, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Timan Elayo has released a statement informing members of the public that the Bank has not authorized owners of the NHF Check portal to charge or conduct pre-loan assessment tests on its behalf.
He said the attention of the Bank was drawn to the existence and operation of a “National Housing Fund (NHF) Eligibility Assessment Checker” portal.

The website, www.nhfcheck.com.ng, charges fees ranging from N2,500 to N4,000 to Nigerians seeking to access FMBN housing loan products.
“Nigerians seeking information on FMBN housing loan products are advised to visit FMBN Branch Offices nearest to them for free consultation on their homeownership options and loan eligibility”, Elayo said.

“Official channels for applying for the FMBN NHF Mortgage Loans are through licensed Primary Mortgage Banks as indicated in this list: https://www.fmbn.gov.ng/PMBs/pmbs.html.
“Applications for other FMBN housing products, such as the Home Renovation Loan, Individual Construction Loan, and Rent-to-Own, are through FMBN State Branch offices.
“Members of the public are therefore advised to take note, the statement concluded.
