The Gombe State Executive Council has approved N31.547 billion for the construction of an underpass bridge and road networks within Gombe metropolis.
Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, the state’s Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport, announced the decision to reporters following the council meeting held on Monday at the Government House.
Under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the council approved the funding for the underpass, which will connect Yemi Osibanjo Road to the Central Business District (CBD) and the State Secretariat. Additionally, the project includes the construction of 18.1 kilometers of road networks in the surrounding areas.
The commissioner explained that this initiative was driven by the expected increase in traffic once the CBD becomes operational.
