Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State has promised that, his government will construct around 10,000 housing units before the expiration of his term of office.
Additionally, the governor said that more than 4,000 homes had been constructed in the state to far.
Prince Abiodun stated this on Friday, when he was paid a courtesy visit by Mr. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
The governor stated that, even if building supplies are somewhat expensive, the government cannot waiver from its responsibility to provide housing for the populace.
“We are still building,” stated governor Abiodun, “and we have built about 4,000 affordable houses in the last four years.” By the time I finish, we will most likely have constructed 10,000 homes.
We have constructed fully sold-out residences for middle-class and upper-class families. They had a whole separate four-bedroom house with a boys’ quarters, water, and internet access.
He added that his government is now working on a different project dubbed “Civil Servants Village,” which would be situated on 50 hectares of land and have a plan and infrastructure already in place. He said that this project would provide state employees with an opportunity to purchase property and construct their homes.
Mr Oladimeji Ojo lauded the state government for its housing delivery schemes, saying he was in the state to intimate the governor of plans by President Tinubu’s administration to provide affordable houses to Nigerians in the shortest possible time.
