The Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG Lagos Island cell) has said its efforts to curb building collapse is being undermined by compromise and political influence.
The group, in a statement, issued by Gbaja- Biamila Fashola said that undue political influence is the barrier to the Building Collapse Prevention Guild struggle against building collapse on the Lagos Island, and appealed to Governor Akinwumi Ambode, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to support its cause against bad developers and negligent regulators.
The statement reads, “There are many buildings waiting to collapse all around us. A stitch in time, saves nine. Please, save our collective birthplace from constant danger of building collapse.” Daily Trust
