Nigerian Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo yesterday at the ARCHIBUILT, NIA-INFODRAC Conference, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) in Abuja, called for the planning of Nigerian cities to be done in ways that will meet the growing demands of the population.
In reference to the government at all levels, Osinbajo emphasized on the importance of developing habitable and sustainable areas.

“We are dealing with the rate of population growth and urbanisation that is probably unparalleled; we are dealing with some of the highest growth rates anywhere in the world, the Vice-President said.
“These are the sort of dramatic changes that challenge our capacity for social planning and urbanisation. Now, how do we ensure sustainable urban planning that transforms our cities and growing urban clusters to truly habitable space; that are of health and sustainable growth with high quality of life?
“Urban planning must include key energy need of a large number of people”, he added.
