The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa has inaugurated the Builders Disciplinary Tribunal.
The event was held on Tuesday 29th October 2024 at the Federal ministry of housing & urban development Headquarters in Abuja.
In his inaugural speech, the Hon. Minister affirmed that the inauguration of the Tribunal marks an important step towards strengthening accountability within the Building profession in Nigeria.
In his words, ‘I have always believed that establishing structures, systems and procedures that enforce adherence to professional standards and ethics is crucial.’
Dangiwa further urged members of the Tribunal to uphold the trust and credibility of the Building profession by ensuring that disciplinary cases are handled with integrity, fairness and transparency.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Tribunal, Bldr. Dr. Samson Ameh Opaluwah on behalf of the Tribunal members, appreciated the Hon. Minister for inaugurating the Tribunal, which serves as proof of the commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria towards entrenching professionalization and regulation in the Building industry. He furthered assured the Minister of the Tribunal’s readiness to hold Registered Builders to account in ensuring strict compliance to the standard requirements.
He also pledged the continuous willingness of CORBON to work with the Ministry towards achieving the desire to entrench safety and sustainability in the built environment.
