The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, inaugurated new police barracks and accommodation facilities in Kano State. This initiative aims to improve living conditions for police personnel and enhance their morale.

The new facilities include over 300 modern residential units, a 48-office administrative complex, a standard armoury, a transport workshop, POWA shops, worship centres, and paved internal roads.

Egbetokun emphasized that the project reflects a commitment to human dignity and national security, stating that no officer should fight for a nation by day and sleep in indignity by night. He acknowledged the instrumental role of private sector partners and thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support, which has enabled significant reforms.

This development is part of a broader plan for police transformation, with similar projects expected in various states. Egbetokun reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to personnel welfare, recognizing that a motivated workforce is essential for public safety and national development.
