The Crusade for Greater Nigeria on Poverty Eradication and Social Justice group has appealed to the chairmen of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to lend their support to Minister Nyesom Wike’s infrastructure drive.
President/ founder of the group, Engr Prosper Okafor, emphasized the recent commencement of off-road construction by Wike, with the promise of more to come, as testament to the commitment of President Bola Tinubu, through the minister, to reshaping the narrative in the territory. He encouraged them to provide measures that would see to successful completion of the projects.
According to Okafor, Wike’s proactive approach signals a distinct shift in the nation’s capital under his watch, provided he has the necessary backing.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the president urged the chairmen, residents and other stakeholders to always play their roles in protecting the multiple projects embarked upon by the minister.
Okafor underscored that irrespective of religious, political, or ethnic affiliation, the wellbeing of Abuja residents must universally take precedence.
The statement read’ “The six area councils chairmen should support the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, to succeed in his infrastructure drive. All the road projects are sited in rural areas, it is the duty of the people to ensure that the contractor and workers do not have obstacles.
“It is an opportunity that Abuja people must take serious irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliations.’’
