The Kano State Government has extended the deadline for the ongoing recertification of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) by two months. Initially set to conclude on January 31, 2025, the exercise will now continue until April 1, 2025.
Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Muhammad Yahuza, commended the public for their overwhelming response to the recertification process. He acknowledged concerns regarding the initial timeframe and assured property owners that the extension provides ample opportunity to complete the process.
Property owners are urged to take advantage of this extension, as failure to recertify ownership documents could result in the forfeiture of property rights under existing regulations. The recertification is being conducted at the Kano State Geographic Information System office.
