Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has approved the construction of 500 houses inside the state, which is a major milestone in cooperative efforts with the federal government.
Situated near Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina, the allotted 25-hectare site serves as the foundation for the federal government’s Renewed Hope City Project.
This significant project was communicated by the governor’s chief press secretary, Malam Ibrahim Kaula, in a statement released in Katsina over the weekend. During a meeting last Thursday in Abuja, the permission was formally conveyed to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Ahmed Musa-Dangiwa, through the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Dr. Faisal Kaita.
The goal of the October 2023 launch of the Renewed Hope City Project is to build thriving residential communities across the country. The project focuses on housing and urban development, with 4,000 housing units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and about 1,000 housing units in each state. This fits in perfectly with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda for “Renewed Hope.”
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development emphasised the necessity for strategic parcels and requested land allocation from each state when the initiative was launched nationally. Kaula underlined how important these expenditures are to the accomplishment of the grand Renewed Hope City Project.
