The Lagos State government is urging residents to help improve urban planning by reporting any regulatory violations.

In a statement on January 8, 2025, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluyinka Olumide, stressed the importance of community involvement. He stated, “Proper planning cannot be done without the support and contribution of the people.”

Olumide encouraged residents to report illegal constructions and unauthorized developments. Complaints can be submitted through the Lagos MPP&UD App, available on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store, or by calling the ministry’s hotlines at 07030653241 and 08034698264.

He assured that whistleblower identities would be kept confidential and noted that the ministry would take action against any staff involved in illegal activities. By collaborating with residents, the government aims to create a more livable and sustainable environment.
