A 64-year-old landlord named Samuel Famakinwa was arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday. It is alleged that he cut off the tenant’s apartment’s water and electrical service.
Three counts pertaining to unauthorised disconnection and breach of peace are being brought against the defendant.
The defendant committed the offences at No. 9, Asungbolu St., Igando, Lagos, at some point in October 2023, according to the prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, who testified in court.
He claimed that the defendant had illegally severed the water supply pipes and the electrical wire in the complainant’s flat, which belonged to defendant Mr Bolaji Eniola.

According to Benedict, the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.

He said the offences contravened Sections 168 (1) (d), 247 and 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
