A civil servant, Jumoke Alonge, was on Tuesday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly blocking her tenants’ entrance with a fence.

Alonge, 58, who lives at Ipaja, Lagos, pleaded not guilty to a charge of breach of the peace.

Prosecuting Sergeant Kenrich Nomayo alleged that Alonge committed the offence on April 11 at 17, Ogunjobi Street, Fadeyi, Lagos.

“Alonge conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by erecting a fence and blocking the entrance of her two tenants, Muyiwa Ogunaike and Joseph Bamidele,” Nomayo said.

Magistrate T. A. Ojo granted Alonge N100, 000 bail with one surety in the like sum.

She said the surety must be employed and show evidence of paying tax. The case continues on September 12. The Nation
