NBRRI Pledges Support For Nigerian Students, For a Better Nigeria

 The Director General of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Engineer Prof.  Samson Duna has promised increased support for youth development. This information was made public during an advocacy visit to NBRRI on Thursday, June 20, 2024, by representatives from the Student Affiliate Wing of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineering’s National Executives.

The DG and NBRRI were commended by the two-man delegates, who were led by the National President Salisu Usman and the National Financial Secretary Nura Sanni Ntoro, for making time in their hectic schedules to meet with them.
The visit’s goal, as stated by Salisu Usman, was to seek NBRRI’s cooperation and support in the areas of IT student training and acceptability, as well as to give the student wing the chance to be mentored by NBRRI.

All these he stated will assist the body to add its own quoter to nation building. He explained that some of the findings after investigations on building collapse and road failures are associated with quacks in the field doing the jobs of professional engineers; and to tackle and prevent these from happening, the student wing is seeking for mentorship and guidance so as to enable them be effective and efficient is service delivery after graduation. He then used this opportunity to notify the institute on the planned road walk being organized by the students which is tagged “Say No to Building Collapse”.

In his remarks, Engr. Prof. Duna encouraged the students not to relent in their efforts to create positive impact in nation building. He emphasized that NBRRI is already handling almost all the request they tabled down, “the institute will not relent in doing more”, he stated.
