At the “Sprout 2024” event held at the Henry Fajemirokun Hall of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry on December 12, 2024, the President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), ESV Victor Alonge, charged young real estate professionals to remain hopeful and focused despite the ongoing economic difficulties facing the country.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, Alonge acknowledged the harsh economic realities that many Nigerians endure but emphasized the importance of resilience. “While the country faces serious challenges, there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he stated, encouraging the attendees to harness their potential and talents for productive efforts.

He advised the youth not to be overwhelmed by obstacles but to approach their endeavors with confidence and innovation. “By sheer determination and abiding faith, you will overcome even the toughest times,” he asserted.

Drawing inspiration from Lebanese youths, who maintain a positive outlook despite their economic struggles, Alonge urged Nigerian youths to adopt a similar mindset. “So, I urge you to be focused and follow the right trajectory for the betterment of the country,” he added.

“Sprout” is an annual event that tackles pressing issues in real estate management while showcasing technological solutions. It has become one of the most anticipated gatherings in the proptech sector, attracting leading players in the real estate industry, government officials, and economic stakeholders.

The event highlighted the importance of innovation and collaboration in addressing the challenges within Nigeria’s real estate market, fostering a spirit of optimism among the next generation of professionals.
