Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has pledged a generous donation of one billion naira to help those affected by the recent devastating floods in Mokwa.

During a visit to the flood-ravaged area on Monday, Governor Bago assessed the damage to homes and met with residents who have suffered significant losses. Expressing deep sympathy, he urged people to avoid waterways during floods to protect lives and property.

The governor assured that all funds and materials received from the federal government, donors, and well-meaning individuals will be used transparently and for the direct benefit of the victims.

He praised everyone who has contributed support so far and promised that the state government will do everything possible to resettle and assist those impacted by the flood, whether directly or indirectly.

Additionally, Governor Bago advised Islamic teachers in the community to keep proper records of their students to help track any missing children during emergencies.

This commitment comes as the community continues to recover and rebuild from the extensive damage caused by the floodwaters.
