The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted a combination of sunshine and haziness for the country from Monday through Wednesday. According to the weather outlook released on Sunday via X, sunny skies are expected to dominate the northern region, with patches of clouds anticipated over the central region.

For the southern region, a cloudy atmosphere with sunny intervals is expected, alongside slim chances of isolated thunderstorms in parts of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Cross River during the afternoon to evening hours.

As the week progresses, NiMet predicts the presence of dust haze over Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Borno, and Yobe on Tuesday, with sunny skies featuring cloud patches over the central region. The southern region may experience isolated thunderstorms, particularly in Cross River.

On Wednesday, the northern region will remain under a dust haze, while the central area is expected to have a sunny and hazy outlook, and southern regions may see cloudy skies with moderate rains in the late afternoon.

NiMet has advised the public to drive cautiously during rainfall and for individuals with respiratory conditions to remain vigilant due to dust particles in the air. Airline operators have been urged to obtain specific airport weather reports from NiMet to aid in effective planning.
