The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a combination of sunny and cloudy weather conditions, along with thunderstorms, across various regions of the country from Sunday to Tuesday.

In its weather outlook released on Saturday from Abuja, NiMet indicated that Sunday will start with sunny skies in most areas. However, patches of clouds and thunderstorms are expected in Gombe, Bauchi, Kaduna, Taraba, and Adamawa States during the afternoon and evening hours.

For the North-Central region, sunny conditions are anticipated, with isolated thunderstorms expected later in the day in Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Benue, and Kogi States.

In the southern region, morning thunderstorms are likely, particularly in Cross River, Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, and Akwa Ibom States, with isolated thunderstorms also forecasted for the evening.

Monday’s Forecast:
On Monday, sunny skies with some clouds are expected in the northern region. Morning thunderstorms may occur in Taraba and Adamawa States, with isolated thunderstorms likely in these areas during the afternoon or evening. The North-Central region will see similar weather, with sunny skies and isolated thunderstorms in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Plateau States.

In the southern states, morning thunderstorms are anticipated in Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom, followed by isolated thunderstorms later in the day.

Tuesday’s Outlook:
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the forecast predicts sunny skies with few clouds in the northern region, along with isolated thunderstorms in Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, and Adamawa States. The North-Central region will experience sunny conditions with clouds and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

For southern states, including Cross River, Lagos, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom, morning thunderstorms are expected, with additional storms likely later in the day.

NiMet has advised the public to take necessary precautions due to the possibility of strong winds preceding thunderstorms. Residents are urged to secure loose objects, avoid driving in heavy rains, disconnect electrical appliances, and stay away from tall trees to prevent accidents from falling branches.

The agency also encouraged airline operators to consult them for specific weather reports to assist in flight planning.
