The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has distributed keys and award letters for over 140 housing units to its personnel, marking a significant step towards improving the welfare and living conditions of its staff.
This development was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Corps’ spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi. During the official handover ceremony, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the livelihood of personnel through inclusive welfare initiatives.
Acknowledging the persistent housing deficit within the Corps, Dr. Audi assured staff that ongoing efforts are focused on delivering affordable housing to ease their accommodation challenges. He also encouraged beneficiaries of the new homes to seize the opportunity and redouble their dedication to national service.
Speaking at the event, the President of the NSCDC National Headquarters Cooperative Society, Assistant Commandant Isa Yusuf, credited the success of the housing project to the unwavering support of the Commandant General. He further pledged that the cooperative would continue working to secure more affordable housing opportunities for members.
In continuation of its housing drive, the NSCDC leadership proceeded to Good Homes Estate in Kuje, Abuja, to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for an additional 102 housing units. These upcoming units will feature a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments, catering to the varying needs of NSCDC personnel.
The new housing projects will be spread across multiple locations, including:
80 units at Grand Luvu Estate in Masaka, Nasarawa State
60 units in Dei-Dei, Abuja
102 units in Kuje, Abuja
These developments form part of a broader effort by the NSCDC to provide sustainable housing solutions and improve the overall welfare of its officers
