The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Associate Professor Ahmed Audi yesterday inaugurated a cooperative scheme for personnel of the Agency at its headquarters.
While revealing that it is a task for members of the Agency to guide against any act of indiscipline and mismanagement of its mandate, Audi posited that the Corps management has been very supportive of the activities and programmes of the cooperative society which he said is aimed at promoting and advancing the social and economic interests of its members
‘The idea of the cooperative housing is in furtherance of staff’s welfare programmes toward enhancing the financial status of the corporative s society for uplifting the standard of its members’, he said.
“The cooperative house is designed to accommodate such facilities as conference centres, event centres, shopping malls, guest houses, gyms and other recreational facilities/services that will be available for use not only by its members but will also be open for use by the general public, Audi further added.
“The Corps Management respects the independence of the Cooperative Society, we will not fold our arms and condone any act of indiscipline and mismanagement of resources placed under your care to the detriment of the welfare of your members.
“As Executives, you are expected to offer selfless services and not fritter away resources pooled together by members under your care. Let me remind you that you will be held accountable for your conduct in the course of your tenure as Executives of the Cooperative Society”.
