The Ogun State Government has announced that tolling operations on the Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode expressway will commence on March 24, 2025. This initiative aims to ensure sustainable road maintenance, efficient operations, and enhanced road safety.

The 14.7km expressway, which had suffered from years of neglect, has been transformed into a modern route with updated facilities, including toll booths, under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. The Governor’s decision to delay tolling until now reflects his commitment to providing relief to residents and road users.

According to Hon. Dapo Oduwole, Director-General of the Office of Public-Private Partnerships, the Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode expressway serves as a crucial economic corridor linking Lagos and Ogun State. The government had initially postponed tolling to allow users to benefit from the road without charges for nearly four years.

The statement clarified that certain vehicles, such as emergency response vehicles (ambulances, fire service, and patrol cars), government-owned security vehicles, and Ogun State Government official vehicles, will be exempt from toll fees.

The government urges all road users to adhere to the new tolling regulations, emphasizing that enforcement measures will be strictly implemented.
