The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has issued a stern warning to land grabbers and trespassers to vacate forcefully acquired land in Ibadan without delay. This announcement was made during an emergency meeting with Obas, Mogajis, and Baales from the boundary areas of Ibadan and Iwo, held at the Olubadan Palace.
In light of ongoing boundary disputes, Oba Olakulehin emphasized that the Oba River has historically marked the boundary between the two regions. He urged traditional leaders to protect their territorial integrity and asserted that the peaceful nature of Ibadan residents should not be misconstrued as weakness.
He stated, “Trespassers should be prepared to face the music,” and called for support from local leaders to reclaim lands that have been taken fraudulently.
