Residents and traders at Oshodi, Lagos Mainland, on Tuesday lamented over the flood that occurred after the morning rain.

There was a downpour in parts of Lagos yesterday, which lasted about four hours, causing traffic jam.

Agege Motor Road was overtaken by flood, preventing roadside traders from displaying their goods.

Our reporter, who visited parts of Oshodi, observed that some commercial buses broke down as a result of the flood, forcing passengers to push them off the road.

Lamenting the effects of the rainfall, a trader, Mrs. Risikat Adepoju, appealed to the government to construct proper drainages in Oshodi, to solve the problem.

She said the flood usually affects their sales because buyers disliked stepping in the puddle.

Another trader, Rafiu Oyewole, said the flood was caused by shops build on culverts, adding that refuse thrown into the drainages blocked them, causing flood. The Nation
