Osun State Government has approved the reconstruction of 22 roads across the three senatorial districts.
This is part of its efforts to improve accessibility to communities and open up economic activities across the state.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode, after the Executive Council meeting yesterday, the government said it was committed to laying a strong foundation of infrastructural development towards bringing economic growth and prosperity to the state.
“The council agreed and decided that based on the covenant Governor Adegboyega Oyetola had with the people and the needs expressed by the people during the Thank You Tour and DFID Citizens Needs Assessment, more roads having socio-economic implications should be reconstructed across the state.
“So, the council, with the strategic intent to open up economic growth and activities, bring governance and development to the people, give our state infrastructural facelift, and make our communities more accessible, has approved the reconstruction of 22 roads across the three senatorial districts, some of which had not been rehabilitated in about three decades.
