Real estate firm, Wonder-Homes and Property last weekend announced it is set to build 3,000 affordable houses in the country.
The Lekki based property company said it is possible Nigerians can own houses without having millions of Naira in their bank deposits.
Chief Executive, Ambassador (Dr) Agbi Stephen revealed that plans are already set to begin construction.
“We understand the challenges people are facing, getting a property of their own. You need at least N10 million, N20 million before you begin to make plans to buy. Not any more, he said.

“We want a Nigeria where individuals can say, “this is my monthly income, and a mortgage can come in to make sure that this person acquires property without having millions in his or her account?
“But this we cannot do as individuals. We’ve approved about 3,000 housing units and mortgages to work for us to provide 1,000 housing units in Lagos, 1,000 in Abuja and 1,000 in Maiduguri”.
Dr. Agbi also disclosed that an individual on a monthly wage of N50,000 can afford their houses, however, with the right policies and support from the government.
“Individually, we’ve been providing affordable housing, affordable land for our customers, and investors. We have a plan that even allows you to pay N50,000 a month, these are done individually, but with help of the current government in power.
“We will come up with something better and it’s going to be a public private partnership system. At least, we’ve sent a proposal to President Bola Tinubu, and the 36 state governors across the country”, he stated.
