Rejoinder: Misrepresentation of information

My attention has been drawn to the write-up in the online publication by View Point Media Housing news post at 7:50 pm today titled “Abuja developers to discuss estate loans”

While it is correct that I invited FCT Developer for a meeting tomorrow at the Secretariat towards the formation of the FCT chapter, in line with the Association’s constitution, the online tabloid stated what the meeting is not. It maliciously reported that Developers have been facing different problems. In a bid to portray Developers in bad light,  it further stated that Developers ‘are said to have brought unapproved plots carved by officials of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Other issues talked of the business relationship of Developers with FMBN and the meeting of Developers with the National Assembly.

REDAN and myself are in the dark as to the intention of the publishers of the online magazine, but want to categorically state that the publication was done in bad light to stain efforts of Developers and REDAN as the statements are false and malicious, and therefore call on our Members and the public to ignore the write-up.

REDAN’s constitution provide for the formation of Zonal and State chapters.  Therefore, our scheduled meeting is not out of place.

Shuaibu is Executive Secretary, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN)
