Rescue operations continue in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, following the collapse of a three-storey building on Oriwu Street. The incident occurred on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and police forces.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collapse was reported around 4 PM. Initial reports indicated that several people were trapped under the rubble. As of now, six individuals have been successfully rescued and received immediate medical attention for their injuries.
LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, stated that heavy-duty equipment, including excavators, has been deployed to aid in the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
