The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha has donated N500,000 to a Jigawa gateman Malam Musa Usman, who rejected a house offer for a borehole to his community.
Usman, who was working for an Indian national in Lagos, Mr. Varkey Verghese, who is also the Managing Director/CEO of Jawa Pharmaceutical, rejected an offer by his boss to build a house for him, saying it would only benefit him and his family while water would serve the entire community.
Mr. Verghese said the SGF donation was for the project aimed at building and furnishing a house for Malam Usman.
He spoke yesterday in Abuja during a press conference and launching a housing project for him and tagged, #Shellter4MusaUsmanCampaign organized by Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Media Network (WASH Media Network).
The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Abhay Thakur, was represented at the event by Dr. Tejeswar Garika, the Second Secretary, Political and Information of the High Commission.
The Indian boss Mr. Verghese describes Mallam Usman as a very honest man and has worked with them for decades. This is as the Communications Officer, WATERAID Nigeria, Blessing Sani, announced the appointment of Mallam Usman as a WATERAID WASH Ambassador.
The Principal Consultant, Sharry Moore Strategic Consult, Dr. Ipoade Omilaju, said he decided to kick off the #Shellter4MusaUsmanCampaign to commend him for his gesture of increasing access to potable water.
