February 6, 2025 – Three individuals suffered injuries in a tanker explosion on Numan Road, Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and local authorities confirmed that no fatalities occurred in the incident.
Aliyu Abubakar, a Deputy Superintendent of Fire at the Federal Fire Service, reported that they received alerts about the fire at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and responded promptly. Multiple agencies, including NEMA and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), collaborated to control the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby fuel stations.
Although the fire was contained, two tankers and one vehicle were damaged. Abubakar warned the public to stay away from fire incidents, as explosions may happen unexpectedly.
Suleiman Nguroje, a police spokesperson in Adamawa, stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.
